Since November 2019 Dave’s Koffiebranderij joined the Amsterdam Roasters Coffee Collective. Dave added his beautiful bright orange 5kg Besca coffee roaster to the machine park!

At Amsterdam Roasters we offer barista basics workshops for you as our (future) coffee bean customers. These workshops are also great for teambuilding with your colleagues!

We will explain what a well made espresso consist of. An introduction in freshly roasted coffee beans and their origin. Understand the variables that determine the extraction time of your espresso drink. For example setting the grinder (‘dialing in’) and tamping the ground coffee correctly. We will convince you of cleaning your tools & equipment vigorously.
When time allows the first steps in steaming the milk will be tought to create a silky micro-foam needed for smooth texture in a cappuccino and eventually latte art.
What will you learn?
Duration: 2,5 tot 3 uur

tamping coffee correctly
extracting the espresso in the correct time (25 sec as starting reference)

From 1 November 2019, 30ml Coffee Roasters will join Amsterdam Roasters – Coffee Collective.
30ml Coffee Roasters will establish office at Amsterdam Roasters in Amsterdam North and will use the facilities and coffee roasters to roast the specialty coffees for their franchise companies. Frans Kooijman, CEO: “The reason for 30ml to join Amsterdam Roasters is because of the collaboration possibilities, sharing knowledge with the other members and use of the professional (coffee roasting) facilities.”
30ML COFFEE ROASTERS 30ml Coffee Roasters is the only true specialty coffee & food franchise concept with 9 successful franchise locations in Utrecht (4 locations), Rotterdam (2 locations), Amersfoort, Leiden and Hoorn by the end of 2019. Further franchisee growth is foreseen in the Netherlands to become the largest specialty coffee concept.
For 2020, 30ml Coffee Roasters is looking for Master Franchise opportunities in Belgium and Germany. A master franchise is a franchising contract in which the master franchisor (the owner of the brand name) hands over the control of the franchising activities in a specified territory to a person or entity, called the “master franchisee”.
AMSTERDAM ROASTERS Amsterdam Roasters was founded in 2017 by Corine Schmal & Arnoud Aalbersberg. Located in Amsterdam-North in a beautiful industrial space at the IJ waterfront, combining co-roasting space, co-working space, multi-roaster cafe, state of the art cupping lab & brew room, storage facilities for green / roasted beans & SCA training facilities. Since April 2019 we have a true Canadian coffee lover under our roof starting up a new and cool coffee brand: Dak Coffee Roasters. Louis-Philippe is a great guy and a valuable addition to our family of coffee co-roasters.
We are happy to say “welcome” to Wakuli, an innovative platform that fits our beliefs to optimize the revenue stream for the specialty coffee farmers. Wakuli is a start-up soon to be scale-up that offers coffee subscriptions to coffee lovers.

March 2nd 2019 we have organized our first coffee collective event at Amsterdam Roasters. The participants had a great time while have a true specialty coffee experience.
Arnoud, co-founder of Amsterdam Roasters, welcomed everybody at an early hour (8:00 AM) and explained what Amsterdam Roasters is all about. There was a (healthy) breakfast to lay the foundation for a lot of coffee.

The fun part was that everybody took home a bag of self-roasted coffee!
Wouter Brunia, one of the most skilled and passionate SCA trainers in The Netherlands will join the Amsterdam Roasters Coffee Collective. A state of the Art Cupping Lab has been built for cupping and testing coffees. Also a brew-room (April 2019) will be ready that will have all kinds of coffee preparation methods available for testing.
Amsterdam Coffee Lab will also host all specialty coffee related workshops / certified SCA education. Wouter, founder of Amsterdam Coffee Lab: ” We can offer all modules of the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA) Coffee Skills Program (CSP): Introduction to Coffee, Brewing, Barista Skills, Sensory Skills, Green Coffee and Roasting. Study for your SCA Coffee Diploma. Also we can offer home barista and latte art workshops at Beginner and Advanced level. Latte art also at Competition level!”
